About Me

First of all, I would like to thank you for finding my blog. As with most blogs this is something that is done in my spare time and we really appreciate you taking the time to stop by. I've got a facebook group (it was set up for my last blog but I put notifications there anyway :) )and now a Twitter for you to follow as well so if you want to say hello, agree, disagree, talk about pudding etc., just leave a comment on the site and I will get back to you ASAP! So, who am I?

My name is James and I am a PhD student in the Discipline of Microbiology and Immunology at the University of Adelaide. Currently I am looking at the pathogenesis of Streptococcus pneumoniae by investigating how a structure called the capsular polysaccharide is constructed and the regulatory procedures that govern its construction work.
When not at his lab bench James enjoys reading (scientific or otherwise), writing (scientific or otherwise), teaching, spending time with his wife and dogs and talking continually about science with his friends and family, who really wish he would stop.

I also offer Biology tutoring to people in Adelaide, Australia. For more information please feel free to contact me.
